How Elmare Was Created
My Story
I am Martina – the hands and heart behind Elmare.
What began as a fascination for a small, knotted bracelet at a market in Latin America is now my profession and my passion.
Back then, I deciphered knot by knot until I could create my first piece of jewelry. Since then, macrame has accompanied me.
I work with yarn, brass, silver, stainless steel, and carefully selected healing stones.
I knot each piece by hand using traditional macrame technique – with patience, precision, and a great sense of detail.
I taught myself everything – through trial and error, curiosity, and countless hours of handcrafting.
Over time, my style has changed: In the past, my designs were more opulent; today, I love clean lines, lightness, and reduction.
My goal is to interpret macrame in a modern way – delicate, timeless, and high-quality.
In addition to the knotted pieces, our silver and brass designs are created in close collaboration with a manufacturer in India, with whom we have worked trustfully for many years.
I design many pieces of jewelry myself and have them produced there under fair conditions. Additionally, I select special pieces from India and other parts of the world – matching my style and quality standards.
Elmare stands for genuine craftsmanship.

Trenza Hair Accessories
A Trenza is more than just a hair accessory – it becomes a part of you.
Individually braided, it accompanies you in everyday life, in the water, and during special moments.
Fixed Trenza
I will braid your personal hair accessory directly into your hair – exactly according to your wishes.
You choose 1–3 favorite colors and assemble your Trenza yourself: with beads, gemstones, and small metal elements that suit you.
The creation takes about 1 hour.
Your Trenza is waterproof, suitable for everyday use, and can accompany you – depending on care – for up to a year.
Price: CHF 4.– per centimeter
You can book your appointment on one of our Trenza days or visit me at the studio in Maienfeld.
Click-In Trenza
A Trenza that you can wear flexibly – to click in, take out, and recombine again and again.
Perfect if you don't want to commit or want to change your look depending on your mood.
You don't need an appointment:
Just tell me your wishes regarding length, colors, and style – I will create your personal piece for you.
Price: CHF 3.50 per centimeter
Now you can also configure your Click-In Trenza directly in the online shop according to your preferences.
With much love and dedication, I create your jewelry for one of the most significant days of your life.
Each piece is created in connection with you – matching your dress, your radiance, and the mood of this special day.
If possible, I would be delighted to welcome you personally to my studio in Maienfeld. In a calm atmosphere, we will take the time for you, your wishes, and all the small details that will make your jewelry unique.
You can try on various pieces, feel different materials, and together with me, create your very personal piece of jewelry. I will guide you through this process with great sensitivity and experience.

Jewellery Evening with Your Friends
Fancy a cozy evening with your girls – full of beautiful jewellery pieces, inspiration, and quality time?
In a relaxed atmosphere, you can try on jewellery, advise each other, and take your time to browse without any pressure.
I'd be happy to come to your home and present my jewellery pieces to you and your friends, or, if you wish, braid an individual Trenza directly into your hair.
As a hostess, you'll receive 10% of the total sales (no cash payout, credited against your purchase) as well as a small surprise gift.
